The fish is sealed naturally through the process of Shou Sugi Ban, a traditional Japanese technique - making the sculpture 100% waterproof without resins. Made from plywood and up-cycled off the Island streets of Key West, Florida. Scales are hammered out flat and made from recycled bottle caps from locals, mostly one variety, Kona Brewing Co. , making the fish extra vibrant and unique to any other fish made on Etsy. Each eye is carefully targeted (marbles) and/or developed (resin) by hand, and each fish has its fins, face and gill plates hand painted. On the back you have two hangers for multiple hanging styles. As well as a a date, artist signature and location made all branded in.
